Auston has been with The Family Church since 2008. At a young age, while homeless, he had to drop out of school to go work to support his family. In his twenties, Auston went back to school and earned his high school diploma. Now he is currently finishing up a degree in a subject he is passionate about – business.
Administration is not new to Auston. In his years at Family, he has been involved in both overseeing and building several ministries: Club Retro (an all-ages music venue), The Spot Youth, and he remains active in working with youth and promoting the music scene, both inside and outside the walls of the church.
In 2016, Auston became an Oliver when he was adopted by Matthew and Siobhan. Having experienced God’s faithfulness, protection, and provision throughout the all the challenges of his difficult life, Auston has a heart to see people encounter God’s love, through the building of genuine friendships and community.
Anthony and Abbey Smith
YOUTH PASTORS and WORSHIP PASTORS
Anthony and Abbey have always had a heart for youth and for worship. They both “grew up” in the church and were so involved that they each became congregational worships leaders by the time they were 14. As teenagers, they saw and experienced what it feels like to be both on the inside and outside of a youth group. That is what compels them to pastor youth in a way that kids of all ages and personalities can feel included and valued at the Spot Youth. They want “church” to be a safe place for young people to ask difficult spiritual questions about God and the Bible and know they will be heard, and not judged.
The Smiths consider it a privilege to lead people, through worship, to a place of increasing hope, where faith becomes real, and God’s presence can be felt. Worship, for them is much more than just singing songs. Their love of music expression goes beyond the walls of the church. They have written original music and can often be seen around the region playing professionally, singing with their band.
Anthony and Abbey live in Roseville and have three children.
Renee has a passion for all children to feel inclusively welcomed and cared for, including those with special needs. Her desire is to create an exciting place for children to learn about, experience, and grow in their relationship with God, as well as with each other. Her mission is to teach children to love God and love others. She has a way of teaching biblical foundation in fun ways that are also memorable for the kids.
Renee has a way of focusing on the details to make “church” a safe environment for transformational learning. She is committed, not only to the children, but to partnering with parents so they can help their kids succeed.
Renee is married to David and they have four children.
